I might have over simplified your point but I don't think I misstated it. We just have a difference of opinion because I don't hear that many similarities. Not like the theme from First there is a Mountain ( for example )where it is undoubtedly the same. Ultimately it's not that big a deal because like spaced pointed out it is better than "the jam that repeats every once in awhile #1"

I missed the time with albums coming out often. It must have been fun to see some of the jams become songs and other remains jams.

I like that the heads know all these details. Over in Allman land they don't seem to acknowledge that the Dead jammed the Moutain jam 1st.

Myself I have a hard time keeping all the musical segments straight, and can't quite grasp the history of Dark Star, or even understand why The Other One became a little stub of itself.
